NOVEMBER 18TH EVENT

Press Release!

Dance 4 Liberation Plans Autumn Creatures Fashion Show

Wilmington, NC- On November 18th, Dance for Liberation will be putting on the Autumn Creatures Fashion Show at Projekte Art Studio on 3rd and castle. Over the past few months Dance 4 Liberation has been seeking innovative ways to expand as a fundraising team. This time D4L is meeting weekly to bring together a spectacular event that promotes the non-stop talent in Wilmington. D4L is lead by Aileen Haugh and Annie Segrest, with dedicated members: Ashley Jane Sargent, Rachelle Benson, Megan Piorko and Laine O’ Connor.

The Autumn Creatures Fashion Show will feature local independent designers, as well as stores such as Aqua Fedora, Lula balou, Half United and Double Wide. The Cruelty Fashion Show will include vegetarian appetizers made by Lauren Hazlett. Attendees will be amazed by the beautiful atmosphere of Projekte. D4L is working together to decorate Projekte with acorns, straw, and leaves to give a beautiful autumn feel to the building. D4L is working with the season, seizing the relaxing autumn time, as the models turn into autumn creatures. Hair and make up will be done by the Rock and Roller Salon. The salon will supply numerous talented hair and make up stylists to transform the models. Dance 4 Liberation is constantly incorporating music into their events, to promote the local music scene. At this event they will feature the DJ FTA and Golden. There will be a band traveling from Chapel Hill called Her Royal Magnus that will dazzle the crowd.

The Autumn Creatures Fashion show will be giving a percentage of the door money to SETA (Students for the Ethical Treatment of Animals). SETA is an animal welfare organization at UNCW which serves to end the cruelties animals endure in factory farming, the clothing trade, entertainment, and laboratories. They petition local and nationwide inhumanities and also raise money for local shelters.
Dance 4 Liberation is excited and proud to be helping out SETA as well as bringing together the local art community. They are looking forward to seeing all the amazing creations designers will come up with. All of the items at the show will be up for sell after the Fashion Show. The doors will open at 8 followed by the fashion show at 9:15. More great live music and celebrations will continue after the show.
