Dance 4 Liberation is bringing Ashley Jane Sargent’s collection for the highly anticipated CORPUS: A Fashion Show February 25th. Ashley was caught off guard when I asked the name of her label or collection for the show. A voice from the background, one of the models that will be walking in Ashley’s clothes for the show, yelled out, “Garbage Couture!”
I let her explain. The collection was inspired from Alice in Wonderland, namely the Queen of Hearts, and the theme, she says, was recreation. The materials she used to make the clothes that will be featured are recyclables. Clever! Without giving too much away, she hinted that a playing card or two will be featured in the collection, maybe a Queen of Heart?
I can’t wait to see how she puts this together. When asked if she would like to elaborate on anything about herself or the collection, she quoted Willy Wonka, “We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of dreams.” Come out to Sputnik February 25th to see Ashley Sargent’s “Garbage Couture” collection at CORPUS: A Fashion Show!
